Presentation: Agile at Scale Panel Discussion

Abstract: Agile at scale is quickly becoming the norm for projects in industry and government. PMI’s Pulse of the Profession 2018 shows that half of all projects use an Agile methodology for execution. Social Security is using Scaled Agile (SAFe) to run its largest multi-billion dollar IDIQ for IT Support Services; while major companies like Saab use Scrum of Scrums to manage development of the Gripen Jet. In the age of change, the greatest benefits of Agile are in managing uncertainty in objectives and requirements; addressing the top reasons that 50% of projects still fail.

This panel of experienced Agile leaders discuss their experiences applying agile across sectors: research and development, defense acquisition (hardware and aviation), civil government (IT and policy), startups, finance, and public works. They represent delivering Agile with teams of teams, from some of the largest companies and organizations in the world, in positions of leadership, oversight, product and program management.

The panel will cover the trends in industry, regulation, and frameworks (SAFe, DaD, Scrum, LeSS); and then transition into interactive discussion with those attending. Attendees are encouraged to bring their experiences and hardest problems to engage this panel and the audience in a powerful conversation about how to get the most of the Agile revolution.
