Biography: Morris Thomas, Ph.D., MBA, PMP is a dynamic leader who serves as Assistant Provost for Digital and Online Learning and Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment at Howard University, where he simultaneously manages two operational units serving the university’s complex academic enterprise through strategic application of project management principles. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he brings extensive experience leading diverse, large-scale initiatives including technology implementations, real estate developments, learning design transformations, and construction projects.

Dr. Thomas is the creator and instructor of “Project Management Essentials” on Coursera, one of Class Central’s most popular online courses, where he shares his expertise with a global audience. He teaches Project Management to MBA students in Howard’s School of Business and serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the School of Education. Known for developing innovative frameworks including The “ENHANCE Learning Model” and “The WHOLE Experience Framework,” Dr. Thomas’s approach centers on creating optimal environments and experiences for success. His scholarship and project leadership have taken him throughout the continental United States, Canada, Cuba, Germany, India, Ireland, Malawi, Puerto Rico, and South Africa.
