Abstract:

The presentation would discuss the interplay between project controls and project management, and how effective project controls can empower a project manager to direct project success, but also indirect project success in relationships, communication, and goodwill with internal and external stakeholders.

Project controls are often overlooked, taken for granted, or relegated to the sidelines. However, the disciplines associated with project controls are catalysts to effective project management careers and should be given their rightful spot on cross-functional and effective project teams.

The takeaways from this presentation will be

  1. To define what are traditional project control disciplines,
  2. How project controls are evolving in a world of A.I. and technology advancements
  3. How to right-size a project controls team,
  4. A case project controls study, and
  5. Tips for project managers to deploy project controls best practices for their ultimate success, professionally and on a project level.

In short, project Controls, when used effectively, can enable a project manager to take better actions, make better decisions, and better allocate project resources. Let’s learn how.
