On-Demand

Abstract:

Large Language Models (LLM) like ChatGPT are becoming invaluable tools. For project managers, using these tools is on a trajectory to become a required skill, rather than a preferred skill in the workplace.

Where can you see this trend gaining momentum? Take a look at job descriptions from the more forward-thinking hiring managers…they include using AI for tasks to describe their ideal candidate. The next progression is an expectation that project and portfolio managers are using these tools to become more efficient and productive. Recent data underscores the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence skills in the job market. According to PWC’s 2024 AI job barometer, jobs requiring AI specialist skills have experienced a growth rate of 3.5 times faster than all other jobs since 2016. Additionally, these positions often command wage premiums for up to 25% in certain markets, highlighting the high demand for AI proficiency.

To better leverage LLM’s full potential, it’s critical for successful project manager to learn how to better engage with these tools. Part of AI’s proficiency with regards to LLMs is prompt engineering. Prompt engineering involves precisely crafting questions, or prompts, in a way that yields the most relevant and optimal responses from an LLM. In this presentation, we’ll explore a variety of best practices and approaches to prompts tailored to project management scenarios, demonstrating how different prompt structures can influence the responses you receive—and why understanding and mastering this can make all the difference in your role. The best practices will include five (5) information security tips on what not to include in your prompts.

*One (1) on-site attendee will be invited to create new prompt(s) to add more interactivity to the presentation.
*Andre Rogers requests to make as needed updates to his presentation due to ongoing changes to AI use.
