Inside Out: A PM’s Journey from Anxiety to Joy – Tiltman

TBD

On-Demand

Abstract:

As project managers, we’re often faced with challenges that can lead to burnout, especially when negativity creeps into the project environment. My presentation focuses on the emotional journey many of us go through—from moments of anxiety and stress to rediscovering joy in our work. I will share my personal experience from the implementation of new student systems at the University of British Columbia. This project brought many highs and lows, especially when working with stakeholders who were skeptical or resistant. However, it was also an opportunity to learn how to overcome adversity, stay resilient, and build strong relationships, even in the face of negativity. Project managers who are feeling the weight of constant challenges and difficult stakeholders will find my story relatable and, I hope, inspiring. I’ll show how to turn adversity into an opportunity for growth, and how we can all navigate the emotional ups and downs of our careers with perseverance and optimism.
