Abstract: This presentation will explore the critical role of effective stakeholder engagement and communication in ensuring successful Federal government projects. By prioritizing open dialogue, active listening, and collaborative partnerships, we can mitigate risks, improve project outcomes, and build stronger relationships with stakeholders. Biography: Alyssa Malcomson has been working for the federal government for the past nine years. She has performed a wide range of administrative and analytical duties. Ms. Malcomson’s experience encompasses program management, including contracts and grants, research, innovation and development, data analysis, evaluation and reporting, and planning, programming, budgeting, and execution as well as auditing and ensuring regulatory compliance.

She has provided leadership and guidance to coworkers, federal agencies, and other stakeholders regarding policy compliance, programmatic performance, and continuous process improvement. She has facilitated collaboration at the federal and state level and has established cross-agency workgroups. These collaboration efforts were instrumental in project success.

During her time as a Public Health Advisor at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Ms. Malcomson created a new data system, SAMHSA’s Performance Accountability and Reporting System (SPARS), which incorporated electronic health records (EHR) and included a data visualization dashboard.

She has been the recipient of multiple awards in recognition of her strategic ideas and performance.

Ms. Malcomson has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland.
