Presentation: Strengthening Delivery Success in Federal Projects: Why FAC-P/PM Certification Matters (in-person)
Abstract: The Program Management Improvement Accountability Act (PMIAA) of 2016 and subsequent OMB guidance (M-18-19) aimed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project and program management across federal agencies. As part of this initiative, the Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) has become increasingly critical in equipping federal project managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to manage large-scale projects effectively.
This presentation will highlight the importance of FAC-P/PM certification in building a qualified and accountable project management workforce within the federal government. FAC-P/PM provides a structured framework to ensure federal project managers can lead acquisitions, contracts, and programs successfully, while adhering to key regulations and federal policies.
The presentation will explore how FAC-P/PM certification enhances leadership capabilities, strengthens knowledge of federal acquisition processes, and supports effective project management practices. Additionally, we will discuss how the certification aligns project outcomes with federal objectives and improves program delivery. Attendees will also learn about key updates to FAC-P/PM certification requirements, including changes in competency and continuous learning standards.
By the end of the presentation, participants will have a deeper understanding of how the FAC-P/PM certification advances career opportunities and contributes to the successful execution of government projects.
Audience Takeaways:
- Learn how FAC-P/PM certification positions federal project managers for leadership roles and career advancement.
- Understand how FAC-P/PM ensures adherence to acquisition regulations and enhances accountability in federal projects.
- Review updated FAC-P/PM competencies and how they enhance project management success in federal programs.
