Abstract: This presentation will provide an overview of the diverse disciplines within project controls and the critical functions they serve. Attendees will learn strategies for maximizing the value of project controls support to enhance project outcomes. Additionally, the session will explore the benefits of a career in the project controls industry as well as insights on how program and project managers can successfully pivot into this dynamic field. The presentation will conclude with an overview of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEI) and its current regional initiatives, highlighting opportunities for professional growth and industry engagement.

Biography: Natasha Dahl is a Senior Director in Ankura’s Construction Disputes & Advisory practice based in Washington, DC. Natasha has spent over 12 years providing consulting and project advisory services for clients in the construction industry. Her area of focus is forensic delay analyses and damages quantifications to owners, contractors, and their counsel across various claims and disputes forums and phases.

Natasha is experienced in construction claims and dispute resolution matters involving issues of delay, disruption, loss of productivity, project scheduling, and cost estimating in a wide range of industries, including government, military, power and process plants, hospitality, mixed-use commercial, public schools, single / multi-family residential both domestically and internationally. She is responsible for supervising and directing teams and assisting counsel with litigation support. In addition, she is responsible for the professional development of colleagues in delay analysis methodologies and expert witness training through her role as a Learning Champion. Natasha has authored expert reports domestically and has been instrumental in developing expert reports and hearing and/or trial demonstratives domestically and internationally.
Natasha has a B.A. in Political Science and Government from Western Washington University and a M.S. in Construction Management from Louisiana State University. She is a Certified Cost Professional (“CCP”), a Planning & Scheduling Professional (“PSP”), a Project Management Professional (“PMP”), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (“ACIArb”). She is the AACE International Region 2 Director in the Northeast US.
