Abstract: How will Federal government program and project management change in the new world of the Program Management Improvement and Accountability Act? Federal program and project managers will discuss the future of project management under the PMIAA and how recent changes in agile procurement, agile project management, and digital transformation has made more effective program/project management vital to government’s ability to successfully deliver services to the American public.

Biography: Mike Morgan is the Manager of Government Relations for the Project Management Institute. In his current role, Mike leads strategic engagement with federal and state government agencies and advances relationships with regional development banks headquartered in Washington, DC. Prior to joining PMI, Mike served in the federal government both as a Program Evaluator in the National Security and International Affairs Division of GAO and as a Program Specialist in the Community Preparedness group at FEMA. He spent ten years in the international consulting arena working primarily with government ministries in the Middle East and research companies in Asia. He also served in a business development role with a variety of organizations including MasterCard International in the U.S. and overseas. Mike holds a Master’s of Public Administration from the American University and a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Studies from the University of South Carolina.
