Presentation: When Crucial Conversations are about Performance

Abstract: Performance conversations may be the most important of the crucial conversations managers and team members have, but they are often delayed, avoided, stressful, and sometimes destructive.  This session explores the consequences of delays in these performance conversations and provides insights and practical approaches to having these  be timely, constructive, and stress-free in the future.

Biography:  Pamela Hunter is the Performance Management and Employee Relations Officer for the District of Columbia Courts.  She is responsible for leading the team responsible for the oversight, management and administration of the Court’s performance management and employee relations functions which also includes serving as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administrator for the Courts and management of the Leave Share Program.

A certified professional in human resources, Pamela has over 20 years of experience working as an internal consultant in various human resources disciplines including training and development; organizational and employee development; performance management; and diversity and inclusion.  Prior to joining the D.C. Courts, Pamela worked for the Chief Administrative Office of the U.S House of Representatives; the Circuit Executive for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; and Westover Consultants, Inc., a management consultant firm. Pamela holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Elizabeth City State University and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University.
