Paper and Presentation: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Through Unmanned Systems for the Construction Sector
Abstract: The construction industry has the lowest productivity rate worldwide for decades; however, the managerial process in the construction industry has remained traditional and seems to be reluctant to embrace innovative technologies such as unmanned systems, AI and big data. This paper will focus on the implications to the integration of unmanned systems and AI in the construction industry.
Some of the key learning objectives from this paper include:
- Identifying the rationale for maintaining a traditional approach within the construction industry despite reported low productivity rate
- Recognizing the pitfalls and benefits inherent to adopting disruptive innovation such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the construction sector
- Reviewing the means and methods necessary to integrate AI trough unmanned systems in order to improve construction management and productivity rate
