We have reserved a block of rooms at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, located at 3501 University Blvd, East, Hyattsville, MD  20783.  The group rate for a Cozy King is $189 (plus 13% taxes).  To book a room, call Marriott Reservations at 1.888.236.2427 on or before Thursday, April 19, 2018. Identify yourself as part of the 2018 Project Management Symposium Room Block.

The College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center is located on the edge of campus so getting to the Project Management Symposium is extremely easy.  The hotel has a free shuttle that will take you to Adele H. Stamp Student Union or you can walk; it is only a 12 minute walk from the hotel to the event site.

The best airports to fly into include: Washington National Airport (DCA) or Baltimore/Washington International (BWI).

 

SYMPOSIUM VENUE – ADELE H. STUDENT STAMP UNION

The symposium will be held at the Adel H. Student Stamp Union on the University of Maryland, College Park campus.  The address is 3972 Campus Drive, College Park, MD 20742.  The blue star on the map below indicates the location of Adele H. Stamp Student Union on campus.

 

PARKING

If you plan to drive to the symposium and park on campus, there is a fee for parking.  It is more cost effective for you if we reserve space in the garages ahead of time ($15 per day vs $3 per hour).  Thus, if you need parking for the event, it is absolutely necessary for you to reserve your parking space when you are register for the event.  We are reserving parking spaces in Union Lane Garage and Regents Drive Garage for Thursday, May 10, 2018 (parking on Friday, May 11, 2018 is free in Lot 1 – see below).  The two UMD parking garages and Lot 1 are shown in the map below with the blue P.  The event venue, Stamp Student Union, is indicated with the star.  There will be parking attendants on site at the two garages to assist you.

Parking is FREE on campus this day ONLY if you park in Lot 1 (b, c, d, e or f). It’s about a 5 minute walk (similar to parking in Regents Garage).  See Map above.  If you do not want to walk from Lot 1, then you can pay for parking in Union Lane Garage – $15 for the day.   You will need to reserve your parking space for Friday in Union Lane Garage when you register for the event.

Another Parking Option – College Park Metro Station

Another option for parking is to park at the College Park metro station for $5.10 for the day and take the Shuttle-UM from the metro to Adele H. Stamp Student Union.  See below for more information from College Park Metro.

 

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE ADELE H. STUDENT STAMP UNION

From Baltimore Take I-95 South to the Capital Beltway (I-495):

Follow signs to College Park, US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to University’s Campus Drive entrance. Turn right on Campus Drive and stay on Campus Drive. Proceed ahead to the traffic circle; go around the circle staying on Campus Drive headed up the hill. You will pass several buildings including Stamp Student Union. At the stop sign turn right onto Union Lane and left into the parking garage. Parking is $15.00 per day in the garage.  If the Union Lane Garage is full, then you can find parking in Regents Garage.  When you get to the end of Union Lane, take a right.  Regents Garage will be on the left side of the road right before Regents Drive.

From Annapolis and points east Take US Route 50 to Capital Beltway (I-95/495):

Go north on I-95/495 to College Park, US Route 1 South (exit 25). Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University’s Campus Drive entrance. Follow directions above.

From within the city of Washington, D.C.:

Go northeast on Rhode Island Avenue (US Route 1). After entering the state of Maryland, continue on US Route 1 for approximately five miles to College Park. Turn left at traffic light on Campus Drive Follow directions above.

From points south and west of Washington D.C., and Montgomery County, Md.:

Take the Capital Beltway (I-495) and head north and east. Just after I-495 joins I-95 in Maryland above Washington, D.C., get off at exit 25B towards College Park on US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University’s Campus Drive entrance. Follow directions above.

From College Park Metro (Green Line):

To get to Stamp Student Union from the College Park Metro you would take the Shuttle-UM bus 104 to Stamp Student Union.  Bus Schedule.  If you decide to park at the metro station and take the bus to campus, the cost for parking at the metro is $5.10.
