PMI Talent Triangle Skill: Strategic and Business Management

Biography: My name is Darlene Bennett.  I am a certified level 3 COR which has afforded me the opportunity to handle contracts over millions of dollars.  My official title is Program Specialist.  Under that title comes a very broad range of duties.  My career in the field of contracts began at the Commerce Dept./NOAA Bureau. I have worked in the field of contracts for over 10 years.  I have also worked with project managers internally / externally to ensuring that the project comes to a complete.

I currently oversee all contracts for the Pascagoula, MS region.  My coverage of contracts includes everything from the request to finalizing of the Statement of Work to the completion of the requisition as well as compilation of all required documents that maybe required for the requested task.  I work closely wit the Acquisition team ensuring that whatever the acquisition team needs, we provide.  The world of acquisitions is constantly changing.  Ensuring that I stay adapt to the every changing world of contracts is very important with the re-certification occurring every 2 years that requires a combination of hands on projects as well as a certain amount of hours in training.  Outside of the world of contracts, I also oversee workforce management needs, federal register and newly added purchase card tasks.
