Paper and Presentation: Mindful Leadership – what is it? How can I apply it to my programs and projects?

Abstract: Is Mindful Leadership the new buzz word? In this session, we will define what is mindfulness, review current research associated with being mindful, discuss the benefits of applying mindfulness to your work as a program or project manager, and practice a simple mindfulness exercise. No special clothes or experience required.

Mindfulness provides the space and presence to focus on the issues instead of the chaos. It allows leaders to be more attentive and focused with the ability to step back and see how your leadership style might be contributing to difficult relationships.

By incorporating mindfulness into my daily life, I have become less stressed, more productive, and a better leader. The process seems simple, yet it is not easy to become a more mindful leader. Join me in experiencing being mindful as a leader.
