Abstract: This paper and presentation will outline the process to create a Performance Dashboard in Microsoft’s PowerBI that will enable an organization to see their data in new ways. PowerBI lets you upload, model and create measures to help you explore your data with visualizations organized in reports and dashboards. This paper will outline the processes for creating a dashboard in the PowerBI application. It will cover how to:

  • Import and format data tables
  • Create a dashboard
  • Create and format measures
  • Create and use data slicers

Biography: John White brings 20 years of project management experience in various industries including Government, Military, Private Sector Consulting, and Training. John is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), certified in MS Project Professional (MCTS) and MS Project Server (MCITP) and has taught thousands of project managers in MS Project, MS SharePoint, and PMP prep courses. He has authored two popular books on Microsoft Project and has also created and delivered training courses on Project, SharePoint and Project Management. John is the past Director of Microsoft EPM at the International Institute for learning (IIL), he is PMP certified and is the Vice President of the PMI Washington DC Chapter. John is a graduate of the University of Chicago and DePaul University, and is currently a Program Analyst with the Federal Government.
