Abstract:

Evaluate Session

Writing your FAC-P/PM narrative can be frustrating in order to meet all seven competency areas. To demonstrate such compliance and professional competency, Program and Project Managers need to find a balance between knowledge and practical experience. The STAR method, “Situation, Task, Action, and Results” is the approach that could effectively organize one’s thoughts, helping with clearly defined narratives with actionable results. In this presentation, I will explore the seven competency areas, how to employ the STAR method to prepare for the narrative. I will present and walk through examples for illustrations.

Learning Objective(s): Describe an effective approach and techniques for Federal employees who want to obtain their FAC-P/PM Level III (senior) certification. Discuss areas of challenges and best practices.
