Biography:  Bianca Roberson is the Director of Business Planning and Governance within the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). As a thought leader with over a decade of experience in the federal space, Bianca has extensive experience facilitating innovation and working at the intersection of programmatic outcomes and information technology. DOT OCIO has a progressive initiative underway to consolidate information technology and to conquer Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs) such as being the best IT in government. Under this initiative, Bianca’s has oversight of all IT spending within the $3 billion-dollar IT portfolio as well as manages the IT budget, risk management program, capital planning and investment control, project performance life cycle, and related governance programs.

Prior to DOT, Bianca was commissioned in the U.S. Public Health Service and worked within the Office of Chief Information Officer at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) and the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Bianca’s diverse leadership experience also includes directing business transformation initiatives, implementing enterprise IT Project Management training programs and managing compliance programs to address OMB and GAO mandates.  She is an Excellence in Government (EIG) fellow and has a double Masters in Business Administration and Community/Regional Planning in addition to the ITIL, PMP, FAC-P/PM Senior Level III and COR Senior Level II certifications. In her spare time, Bianca can be found enjoying nature trails, completing DIY projects or taking spontaneous trips with her family.
