Presentation: New Research in Risk Management Supports Link to Project Success

Abstract: The results of a quantitative, correlational study found a link between risk identification and project success. The study was conducted to fulfill the requirements for a doctoral degree from Walden University. I will discuss the research question and the approach and research design to answer the question. The study’s theoretical framework was expected utility theory (EUT), which emphasizes the role of uncertainty in risk management. The implications for future research and project management will be takeaways from this presentation.

Biography: Marsha Marinich is an award-winning certified project manager supporting information technology (IT) projects in the Defenses Health Agency space. She is also SAFe certified as a Scrum Master and Agilist. Her career includes founding and running an IT services and product company for 21 years, teaching and overseeing special projects and a university, and standing up a DoD center of excellence. She is in the final stage of completing a doctorate based on a study of risk management and project success.
