Abstract: We hear every day about the AI revolution, some about industry 4.0, lots about multigenerational workplaces, the gig economy, hybrid work, remote work, presenteeism, and much more. Thoughtful analysts are projecting an even more rapid and complex set of changes for organizations and their members to navigate. And, at the heart of all of these changes are the people who will have to make them. So, what changes should we expect? What trends have already been identified? How might we respond to them when delivering projects for our organizations? How might these trends interact? What skills will PMs need most to be effective in the emerging new environment?

Biography: Rajashree Hazarika, a current graduate student of project management at the University of Maryland, has always found herself captivated by understanding people and cultures. This fascination, which began with her experiences growing up in various parts of India, has significantly influenced her life path. Notably, she has a deep-seated passion for social justice, specifically global issues, human rights, and representation.
During her undergraduate years, Rajashree used her passion to advocate for change. She established a club in collaboration with the United Nations Foundation, which aimed to empower women to lead change in global gender issues through advocacy and communication. This experience marked the beginning of her leadership journey.
Rajashree is also a proud holder of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Her academic background prompted her interest in environmental sustainability, particularly in the transportation sector. She has contributed to research writing on this topic, working with ASHRAE India, firmly believing in the importance of collective effort to achieve a sustainable future.
Now, Rajashree is turning her focus towards project management. She is eager to combine her skills and experiences to contribute to a future that is both equitable and sustainable. As a first-time speaker at the PM symposium, Rajashree is excited to connect with fellow attendees and share her ideas about people in project management.
