Event Details
- Dates: Thursday, April 18, 2024 and Friday, April 19, 2024
- Format: The event will be offered both in-person and virtually. All sessions will be recorded and available to attendees to view for one year following the 2024 event.
Live and Pre-Recorded Speaker Sessions
For the 2024 Project Management Symposium, the University of Maryland plans to have two types of presentations:
-
- In-person session speakers presenting live in 4 concurrent tracks (36 total sessions over the 2 days). Session is 45 minutes in length: 5 minute introduction, 30 minute speaker presentation, and 10 minutes for Q&A.
- On-demand presentations that will be pre-recorded on Zoom (up tp 20 sessions). Presentation is 30 minutes in length.
Submission Process
1) Submit Abstracts + 3 Minute Demo
Includes submittal of: presentation title, abstract, speaker bio and headshot plus demo video. Video required for first time, non-government speakers. Previous and government speakers are exempt from the demo video requirement.
2) Review by UMD
3) If selected, submit presentation (in UMD developed powerpoint template) and recording of your session
Submitted presentations fall into three categories:
a) Refine and submit a new recording (for on-demand sessions only)
b) Recording is accepted (ready for upload to Symposium website – on-demand sessions only)
c) Refine presentation slides (if needed), submit updated presentation and present live (presentation with Q&A will be recorded live)

February 5, 2024 | Draft Presentations and 30-Minute Recording Due (all sessions) |
March 11, 2024 | Feedback from session Moderators to Speakers |
April 2, 2024 | Completed Papers Due (only if you wish to have a paper published) |
April 2, 2024 | Final presentations due Updated Recorded Sessions Completed and Submitted (On-Demand Sessions Only) |
