Presentation: Leveraging ChatGPT for Project Management Practitioners

Abstract: In this conference session, we will explore how ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model, can be an effective tool for project managers in the higher education sector to streamline planning a project. We will discuss the background of ChatGPT, its capabilities, and limitations, and share practical use cases of how it can help project managers to streamline their workflows and enhance productivity in a higher education context. Additionally, we will provide guidance on how to ask effective questions to ChatGPT, so project managers in higher education can get the most out of this tool.

Biography: Aiden is a Project Manager within the Enterprise Planning and Continuous Improvement (EPCI) Group, within the Division of Information Technology at the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the UMD Team in 2021, Aiden held a number of positions within various industries such as Technology Services Director for Fannie Mae, and Program Manager for Broadcast and AV Services for the International Monetary Fund. In addition he served as an Audiovisual Project Manager for Marine Corps Headquarters at the Pentagon, and was the lead Project Manager for a multi-million dollar Innovative Technology renovation for the CEO of Lennar Homes Corporation. He is a subject matter expert in networked audiovisual enterprise environments, and broadcast/media systems engineering, and holds a number of technology and PM certifications. Before coming to UMD, he was especially proud of his achievement in developing and growing a successful auxiliary AV integration service for the University of Colorado at Boulder campus. Aiden holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film & Television Production from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Arts Degree in Theater from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His passions are technology, the arts, great food, cycling, and running.
