Call for Speakers and Papers

We Dare You to Share!

Our call for speakers is now open through November 11, 2019.

What’s your story?  We know you have plenty!  War stories, success stories, failures, and lessons learned.  Give back to the project management community.

The Project Management Center for Excellence at the University of Maryland invites potential speakers to submit an abstract to present during our 2020 Project Management Symposium to be held on May 7-8, 2020 in College Park, Maryland.  Both individuals and organizations are eligible to submit abstracts for papers and/or presentations to be included in five concurrent sessions for our 2020 symposium.  Sessions are 30 minutes n length so presentations should be no longer that 20 minutes to leave time for Q&A.  Abstracts are due no later than November 11, 2019.  Target audience for the event includes project managers from: industry (38%), federal, state and local government/non-profits (44%) and academia (18%).

September 4, 2019 Call for papers and case studies opens
November 11, 2019 Last day to submit your abstract
December 20, 2019 Acceptance notifications released via e-mail
January 7, 2020 Speaker acceptance deadline
February 11, 2020 Registration deadline for all speakers
March 30, 2020 Completed papers and draft presentations due.  Email to:

April 27, 2020 Final presentations due. Email to:

Please note that all selected speakers will need to register for the two day symposium by February 11, 2020 at the speaker rate of $350 (fee will increase after February 11, 2020).
